This page is intended to display the plates I have and to immediately show what I still need for the runs shown.

COMMERCIAL First Issued 1920, Last issued 1976 Base Plate. Replaced by a combination of A. passenger plates for light commercial vehicles and B. the Heavy Commercial plate.

For 1944 most Commercial Vehicles received a window sticker to use with the 1943 plate, but there but a few rare 1944 Commercial plates were produced.

Low number1952 Type, Issued in 1952. Regular commercial registrations had no strip in 1952. HEAVY COMMERCIAL In 1980 light commercial vehicles were amalgamated into the Passenger type, and heavier commercial vehicles received their own new type. Plates were at first issued in pairs, but from November 2005 only one has been issued. Some plates are subject to severe fading of the yellow. These plates, from the earliest issues remain valid if renewed, however it is extremely rare to see A and B suffix plates on the road today, and C plates are very scarce. Unlike for other plate types, the single plate is mounted on the front due to the wear and tear at the rear of dump trucks and similar vehicles, and also because they commonly tow trailers. Serial Format: 5 digits followed by a single letter, commencing with 10-000-A or 10-001-A. Serial Progression: At first up to 99-999-A then 10-001-B etc. Currently in 2023 the D series is nearing exhaustion.


PRORATED COMMERCIAL
Type 1 1982. Steel and rounded corners. Began with PRP 1000 or 1001.	Type 2, as Type 1, but with squared corners. Serials start at 7000	Type 3. Prefix changed to PR to accommodate five digits. Provincial slogan replaced by "PRP COMMERCIAL" Serials start at 10000	Type 4 Aluminum, and slogan changed to "OPEN FOR BUSINESS" Serials start at 12000. Also a subtype starting at approximately 20000 with a new die for province name and slogan.
Type 5 2001. Slogan changed to "APPORTIONED"	Type 6 2012. Debossed edge and borderless.

TRAILER Commenced 1927 or 1928 (see note below) and still being issued. T suffix to 1959. T prefix from 1960 to present. Note that a separate category for Heavy Commercial Trailers (TX) commenced in 1960, evolving in the modern era into the Permanent Trailer (PT) type, so that today the Trailer type is generally found on smaller trailers.

REHEAVY TRAILER/PERMANENT TRAILER
REPAINT. This is my only example of the TX plates issued from 1960 until replaced by the Permanent Trailer type	Type 1. Began with PT1-00-00 or PT1-00-01. Steel and rounded corners	Type 2, as for Type 1, but with squared corners	Type 3, as fpr Type 2, but in aluminum
Type 4. Changed to red on yellow. Began at 3-20-00	Type 5, as previous but with revised word dies.	Type 6 Debossed edge and borderless.
REGISTERED WEIGHT Issued from 1934 to 1958 on an annual basis, followed by a "permanent" issue commencing in 1959 and thought to have been issued and/or valid until the mid 60's \| These plates are not really licence plates ("vehicle registration plates") as they are not individualized to any one vehicle. They were mounted on a commercial vehicle to indicate the maximum allowable weight of a vehicle including its load and were in addition to the regular commercial plates assigned to the vehicle. There were several different weights produced. I have no idea how many, and whether it varied from year to year, and I don't know if anyone has this information. Therefore a collector could have several different from any particular year, and still not know if they have a complete set. My aim is to have at least one from each year of issue but not go out of my way to have more than one.
